Located at 3963 West Outer Road in Arnold / Imperial, Missouri, snuggled back off the main road, is a little hidden BBQ oasis. Most are not sure what to expect but when you walk up to the front door, you'll see a sign that says, "Margarittaville...No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem." It's a nice sentiment; but, you may not want to do that since it might upset someone. The whole idea is to "mentally" help you feel like you are on vacation. When you come inside, the walls are a mural of palm trees, beaches and a sunset inviting you to your favorite vacation spot. After a hard day's work, enjoy an ice cold beer, wine, soda or iced tea with your hickory smoked BBQ.

Your children will enjoy the fish tank filled with active colorful fish, hula-hoops, balls, sidewalk chalk, badminton, football, coloring books, etc. While the adults might bring their favorite CD to pop in and play a game of backgammon or washers.

Enjoy conversation with the owners or others sitting close by. They have 12 seats inside and plenty of outdoor seating in the garden area.

Whatsmokin'? in the big black tank? The smoker is homemade by family and friends. All meats are slow smoked for 6 to 12 hours using charcoal & hickory wood. Serving Pork Butts, St. Louis Style Ribs (with the rib tips on), Chickens, Beef Brisket, Hamburgers, Brats, Pork Steaks, Bacon & More.

The word is out.  They have new customers every day referred by a large group of loyal regulars.  Some have said in their travels from Memphis to Kansas City that Whatsmokin’s brisket, ribs and pulled pork are the best they have ever had.  Some Kansas City transplants to the area have said that unlike in Kansas City where you can walk out your door and have your choice of multiple BBQ restaurants, that isn’t the case in this area.  He said, “finally, a great BBQ place right in our neighborhood!” 

The rub, sauces (Sweet & Smoky and Tangy & Spicy), most of the sides (Potato Salad, Sweet & Sour Slaw, 3-Bean Baked Beans, Green Beans with Bacon and Onion) are Pat's own recipes. Her signature dish has become the BBQ Spaghetti consisting of her Sweet & Smoky sauce, Spaghetti and Pulled Pork. Many come into the restaurant asking for it, "I heard it is really good."
